Help produce the Women of Steel film
Hollywood won't make the Jobs for Women film. No comic book heroes (just working class ones), nor women as princess or victim or accessory for men (just women collectively taking on a goliath opponent).
Making a documentary feature film that will inspire, entertain and educate audiences around Australia and globally, needs the broadest support - in promotion and especially funds.
Almost 200 backers raised $27,000 for our earlier short dramatic film, The Women Who Were Never There, which went on tour in 2016 and raised further funds. The last two years of production have had some great support financially from not just the AWU, but as a result of attending the ACTU Congress, more unions have realized how important our film is and have donated to our project!
See other ways you can help below, watch for fundraisers on our events page.
It will take a people-powered movement to make this film.
Please "Like" us on Facebook, share the film's videos and photos as they come through, talk to people about the film, and use any venue you can to let people know about the film. If you happen to know someone who could help us complete the film, please let them know about it!
We really appreciate any support and we will have upcoming campaigns and events to get involved in.
Donate via Documentary Australia Foundation
We are pleased to announce our film has been approved by Documentary Australia Foundation, an organization helping Australian filmmakers make films that encourage social change and document social justice campaigns!

A BIG THANK YOU!
$12000 received from a Jobs for Women Fundraiser, many thanks to the National Executive of the Australian Workers Union, the union we were all in when we worked at the steelworks!
This money has been spent on completing research into archival material, purchasing "screeners" of archival footage from the campaign of 1980-94 and editing!
We still need to raise money to pay for music composition, archival copyright (which costs around $30 per second!) a final edit, then a vision and sound mix , along with titles and colour grading! We want to make sure our film looks, sounds and feels really fantastic!
